Eco Niwas Samhita: Implementation Strategy and related initiatives for Code adoption
Eco-Niwas Samhita (ENS) is India’s building energy code for residential buildings. It was launched by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power in December 2018.
Energe-se is supporting the implementation of the Code through multiple activities including developing state specific implementation strategies for Gujarat and Rajasthan, based on extensive research on housing policies, data about quantum and type of housing, key levers driving housing construction, and interviews of public and private sector stakeholders; enabling local teams in these states and related market, financial and regulatory mechanisms for Code adoption.
